First Round of CFL - DoD_Salerno

The first round of the CFL Competition will see teams come up against each other on the map, DoD_Salerno. Which some may get mixed up with the Valve version, Palermo, which is the 'newer' version of Salerno but CFL admins along with most of the world find DoD_Salerno a much better competition map. The maps layout is similar if not the same as DoD_Rails_b2. DoD_Salerno is just an alternative to rails and it just feels new to have it back after a long time with rails. Salerno is a 5 Flag map, 4 Single caps and 1 double cap.

Salerno offers some good Rifle/Sniper and Heavy battles as parts of the map are specified for a particular class.

The 'long street' at the axis 2nd and the 'blue room'(not actually blue) leading from the Allied back alley to the long street will usually offer a 1 v 1 rifle battle. Other places offer good rifle battles like from the crossroads to the 'allied connector' as well as the 'boat house' at the beach side, the allied rifle on that side should also watch the cafe so he is a very important rifler. These are simply the locations on where we will see the rifle battles. Salerno needs each player to hold their line or call if they die before their team gets on the middle cap, as once one of these flanks are lost, it opens a wider field for being broken on the middle capture point. However, if you still have at least one support alive, he can help backup from the house, the long street side and can also break the middle cap and possibly get a shot onto the cafe.

The Sniper's will be extremely important also, and it should be interesting to watch these, as snipers can rotate from their sniper lofts to the crossroads/allied connector or even the cafe to trick the opposing team players.

Shoutcasting will also be up and EVERYONE is free to join, the program used will be ventrilo ( www.ventrilo.com ) and download the client ventrilo program. Once downloaded, put the details below in your server finder.
